As of Jun 27: 4 more contacts discharged — 3 high-risk and 1 low-risk; 89 contacts monitored (4 VHR, 11 HR, 74 LR). As of Jun 30: ALL persons in very-high-risk and high-risk categories have completed 21-day quarantine without symptoms — milestone declared by Health Minister Muraleedharan. On Jun 30, a further 3 HR and 24 LR contacts were released; only 3 low-risk contacts remain under surveillance. All 9 contacts previously admitted to hospital have been discharged. All 15 persons who developed symptoms while on contact list tested negative. 58 samples from persons with Nipah-like symptoms in Kozhikode district since Jun 10 have tested negative. No new Nipah cases confirmed. Patient remains on ventilator at Kozhikode Medical College; last two samples tested negative for Nipah. Bat samples from roosting sites near patient's residence tested negative (Jun 22); source of infection remains unidentified. AS OF JUL 22 2026: Kerala Health Minister declared COMPLETE RELIEF — all remaining Nipah surveillance in Ramanattukara, Kozhikode officially withdrawn 42 days after the Jun 11 confirmation. Zero secondary cases recorded throughout the outbreak. Outbreak declared fully contained (Janmabhumi / MediaMangalam, Jul 22 2026). AS OF AUG 7 2026: The confirmed patient DISCHARGED from Kozhikode Medical College on Aug 7 2026 (Friday) after approximately 58 days of hospitalisation. Complete recovery in consciousness, mobility, and neurological functions. Patient has returned to normal life. Outbreak fully resolved with zero secondary cases (Onmanorama, Aug 7 2026).
